In 2012, the Monthly Alumni Events will be moving to a new format. The Young Alumni Happy Hours and the Networking Events that were being held each month, will now alternate with one another.
The schedule for 2012 is below: Young Alumni Happy Hours - February, April, June, August, & October
Networking Events - March, May, July, September, & November

The Office of Alumni Relations is happy to announce the return of the Alumni Christmas Party on Monday, December 19th!All Alumni
21 and over are invited to join with their fellow Alumni, members of the Jesuit Community, & Faculty & Staff for the return of this tradition.
We have rented out the Main Hall of
St. Arnold's Brewery and will have St. Arnold's on tap, and gourmet burgers, fries, & chicken wings from one of Houston's newest food trucks (
Aracan The Roaming Kitchen) owned by two Alumni - Gumby Narvacan '89 and Juan Castro '89. There will also be brewery tours available during the evening.
Tickets are $25 per Alumnus. This event is specifically just for Strake Jesuit Alumni, and is open to all Alumni 21 years of age and older.

They're on a mission from God and are coming to your town!
Strake Jesuit President Fr. Daniel K. Lahart, SJ, Br. Casey Ferlita, SJ, along with Development Director NJ Santarcangelo '67 & Alumni Director Tim Scalzitti '90 will be hitting the road as the "Strake Jesuit Blues Brothers" during the first week of November to host their annual Alumni Receptions.
They'll be in Dallas on November 1st, Austin on November 2nd, and San Antonio on November 3rd.

Alumni now have two monthly events in the Houston area that they are invited to attend.
On the second Thursday of each month, the Young Alumni are invited to attend the monthly Young Alumni Happy Hours.
On the third Tuesday of each month, all Alumni are invited to attend the new series of monthly Networking Events.

Fifty years ago, Strake Jesuit began holding its first classes, and the first day of school was on September 15th, 1961. (A date delayed by a few days due to Hurricane Carla).
The members of that first class – the Class of 1965 - are invited to join us for a special lunch in their honor on September 15th, 2011 to celebrate the 50th Anniversary of the first day of school for Strake Jesuit.
The lunch will be held in the Moran Dining Hall at Strake Jesuit, and will be held at the same time as the lunch for our students that day. This way current students can meet our first students - the members of the Class of 1965.

In March, the Office of Alumni Relations, with help from a group of Young Strake Jesuit Alumni kicked-off a series of monthly Young Alumni Happy Hour events. After a few months, the event has really taken off, with about 40 young Alumni attending the June event at Volcano's with our special guest, Br. Casey Ferlita, SJ.
The Young Alumni Happy Hours will occur the second Thursday of each month, and each month the location will be different.
The July event will be on Thursday, July 14th at Leon's Lounge. Our special guest will be Coach Willie Webster.

Prior to their graduation, the Class of 2007 collected over $13,400 in pledges toward their Senior Class Gift – which they had voted on and designated to be a project of making a composite class photo for each Strake Jesuit graduating class.
The installation of the final class photos was complete earlier this month. The photos are now on display in the west corridor of the Parsley Center.

Thank you to all who participated in, and submitted their thoughts on the upcoming Reunions for the Classes of 1966, 1971, 1976, 1981, 1986, 1991, 1996, 2001, and 2006.
Your submissions are very helpful to both the school, and your class members who are working hard to plan events for the weekend and for your class. We will do our best to incorporate the survey results into the plans for Reunion Weekend 2011.
The process of planning the events continues. We will keep you updated and informed via e-mail,

Twitter, and contact from your classmates working on the planning as we finalize all the details.
